FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is RF?
RF stands for “radio frequency”. Radio frequency provides heat that stimulates collagen production, and when combined with state-of-the-art microneedling, the results are amazing!
How is Vivace different to other forms of microneedling?
Vivace is FDA cleared and TGA listed, and is positioned as the best-in-class microneedling device – combined with radiofrequency to deliver an incomparable experience. As opposed to microneedling rollers and pens that can lead to tearing of the skin, pain and variable patient results, the Vivace’s needle set contains 36 insulated gold tipped needles ready to deliver results at three levels of penetration.
What does it feel like?
A topical numbing cream is applied around an hour prior to the treatment to increase comfort level. You will experience a light pressure against the skin and may feel some slight pinching sensations throughout the treatment. Most clients find the experience very comfortable.
How long does it take?
This depends on the area being treated but as a guide, a Full Face treatment would take around 45 minutes, with the additional hour beforehand needed for topical numbing.
How many treatments do I need?
Many clinicians find three or four treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, provide the best results. This does of course vary depending on your individual concerns. Results can take up to three months to fully appear as the process of collagen regeneration increases over time. For this reason, a single treatment is not recommended.
What happens after the treatment?
The vast majority of clients only experience some redness and light swelling post-treatment. This does tend to subside within an hour or two. Avoid sun exposure and abstain from heavy or intense exercise for the next 24-48hrs. The microchannels created by Vivace microneedling remain open for around four to six hours. After this time you are ready for a night out, with very little indication of having been treated that day! Avoid putting unnecessary products on your skin for the rest of the day (moisturiser, serum or sunblock is fine) though if you would like to wear make-up, please wait until six hours after the treatment.
