Our emotional well being and optimism is greatly affected by our relationships with family, friends & colleagues, and the way people relate to us depends on many things including how we respond to other people and how we present ourselves to other people. Self image is an important product of these and other things including how we feel about ourselves. The trained, qualified, and experienced Laser Hair Removal therapists at City Laser Clinic see the increased confidence in people as they achieve their objectives of cleaner hair free skin, but we also know that appearance is more than skin deep! We know that Healthy skin is a reliable indication of overall good health, and that a healthy and balanced diet promotes general well-being so our bodies function optimally.
Exercise, Sun and Fresh Air
Whilst recommending caution and protection from the sun and avoiding exposure to direct sunlight (particularly 2 weeks before and after your laser hair removal sessions) between 10am and 3pm when UV levels reach their peak we also inform our clients of the benefits of sensible exposure to the sun. There are reliable reports that our bodies need natural sunlight to produce Vitamin D to keep our bones strong and healthy, as well as support our immune system. People who do not receive adequate amounts of natural sunlight are known to develop medical and sometimes psychological conditions including some mood and behavioural disorders. Sensible exposure to natural sunlight is beneficial to our minds and bodies. At City Laser Clinic we also inform our clients of the benefits of exercise for the benefit of the cardio-vascular system as well as the fresh air, and exposure to natural sunlight. Exercise comes in many forms and health professionals advise that even gentle walking for 1 or 2 kilometers a day is greatly beneficial to our health, we also suggest to our clients working in offices that (where possible) they walk up one flight of stairs and down two rather than wait for and catch the lift for these short trips. Health Departments promote programs such as walking to work, or at least walking further to the train or bus – go to the next stop and walk the extra distance; you’ll feel better! Take it easy to begin with and if you have health problems talk to your General Medical Practitioner before commencing any additional exercise, even gentle exercise.
Diet for a Vital Life
To promote healthy vital life, the trained, qualified, and experienced therapists at City laser Clinic advise eating plenty of fresh food, including:
- Fruit, especially, oranges, grape fruits, and mandarins;
- Vegetables, especially broccoli, brussels sprouts, and mushrooms;
- Seafood, especially, tuna and oysters and
- Other lean meat including turkey and other poultry.
A healthy and balanced diet promotes general well-being and our body will function at its best.
Additional to a Healthy Diet as well as Exercise, Sun and Fresh Air, we recommend that you
- Avoid cigarette smoke (including second hand smoke from smokers, as well as direct contamination if you smoke);
- Minimising or abstaining from alcohol consumption; and
- Drinking plenty of water, at least 2 litres per day.
Remember that a healthy balanced diet means that you should not need supplements to maintain good health and vitality.
