Laser Hair Removal for Men - The Scalp (Cranium)

Whilst the “traditional” response by men to baldness has been to pursue treatments promoting hair growth including surgical hair transplants; increasingly men are embracing their baldness and shaving their heads to promote a strong masculine appearance of vitality.

At City Laser Clinic we are increasingly having men attend seeking Laser Hair Removal for various skin areas, including the scalp.

Laser hair removal of the scalp is safe and effective, at any time about 90% of the hairs on our head are in the active growth phase (Anagen) when Laser is effective, whilst about 10% are in the transition (Catagen) phase or resting (Telogen) phase.

Dramatic results commonly arise after only one treatment with a substantial reduction in the amount of visible hair growing being noted.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Most men that have completed laser hair removal on the scalp report on the time saving and ease of not having to shave the stubble that grows on the back and sides, and a preference for the clean appearance over that unsightly stubble or “head shadow”.

Many men that have received the benefit of Laser Hair Removal of the scalp recognise the benefits to the extent that they decide on full face Laser Hair Removal treatment, achieving further daily time savings and long term cost savings from not having to purchase razors or razor blades.

Effectiveness

Laser Hair Removal is a safe and effective method of hair removal for most people, especially for people with light skin and natural dark hair. Inherently Laser Hair Removal treatment is more effective with thick dark hair than it is with thin light hair.

If you have natural dark hair and dark skin you can still be benefit from laser treatment for hair removal, however additional treatments are usually required to achieve satisfactory results.

At City laser Clinic we find that great results are achieved for men with experiencing baldness, particularly the common “Male Pattern” where the baldness shifts from brow to crown and a border of usually thick hair remains on back and sides.  So long as this hair is dark, Laser Hair Removal can be expected to be effective.

Treatment Strategy

Depending on your hair and skin type and the extent of hair loss a minimum of between 4 and 6 sessions are expected to achieve the best results. Because only actively growing hair follicles are destroyed by the laser, and not all hair will be in the active growing phase at the same time, not all hair can be removed in one session, return visits are necessary.

At City laser Clinic our therapists are trained, qualified, and experienced to advise you on appropriate treatment methodology and expected results for you.
